Star Carr House
Whether a small 2 bed home or a large 6 bed mansion we put the same effort into them all, but along the way you just may come across those special projects and as a bonus met nice people. One such project was Star Carr House, which proved to be a golden opportunity to work on a beautiful farm house, for a lovely family. This was a house which we helped design and advise all the way from start to finish. A building steeped in history, in a great location, just ready to be taken in hand.A great job for great people and I still call in for coffee when passing.

Wymersley Road presented an exciting opportunity to build four new properties that complemented an existing nineteenth century lodge that we renovated next door. The site offered beautiful views overlooking Springfield Park and Golf Course, as well as being nearby to local amenities in Willerby and excellent transport links to Hull.
Director of Southwell County Homes, Dick Southwell explained that, “Finding this site gave us the opportunity to do something special as we had this lovely old lodge to work with and base our new properties on. I saw the potential in this site straight away.”
Designs were produced with the expert assistance of Carl Chapman, of Frank Hill & Son. Dick goes on to explain that, “We designed four new homes with features taken from the original building and used materials to suit the style of the homes.” Two of the properties were sold fully fitted, with the remaining two offering the buyers the chance to design their own interiors.
The finished properties certainly attracted compliments from local residents. As Dick explains, “Now that they are finished, the properties look as though they have always been there as we have incorporated the original features so well.”
